We are living in a time where restaurants are trying hard to find a new way of thinking. Uniqueness is where everybody is reaching to and the ideas of creating one, with the right flavour as in food but also in concept, seems to be endless. In cuisine the are no limits and the interest is growing to unexplored nations to find always something new and different.

In November 2008 a restaurant was established in the land of smiles, in the heart of Bangkok, to give the city something new, simple and fresh, food with authentic flavours but also a place which would feel like home. Aalto Kitchen – mixture of Nordic cuisines, serving the only Finnish cuisine in the city; opened its doors to make Nordic food more known in this Asian capital, but also to give you something more than food – a place where you will enjoy spending time.

We are located in business district on Silom Road; a popular area perfectly situated close to the river of Chao Phraya and easy to be reached by BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway, and just next to the Expressway, but still in quiet and relaxing place of Sun Square’s upscale walking street.

We believe doing things our way. We are a place related to home – a place for our guests to come and spend relaxing time with home-style food prepared with quality ingredients and by experienced chéfs, not forgetting to please your sight of hunger. We not only taste the food, we not only see the food – we feel it.

We are not just a restaurant, we have a face, and with our friendly faces of our truly remarkable staff of Khun Aum, Prang, Pang, Bond, Yo, Kok and Pit, we are always there for you to make your stay memorable.

Year of 2010 we became part of Thailand’s Best Restaurants, chosen by Thailand Tatler and their unbribable food critics. We are honoured to be one of the 200 and plus best dining establishments in the country. We won’t stand still, we will continue to be the best – being best for our guests.

QUICK FACTS

Name
The name of Aalto Kitchen derives from our home. Word “aalto” means “wave” and it reflects the blue waters of Nordic region. It’s also known as a common Finnish last name. Some might think the name is from famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. We wanted our name to originate from Finland, but also to express the way of our thinking. It is fresh, pure, blue, bright, strong and it’s gives us the energy – just like we are and we do.

Space
Aalto Kitchen is is divided to indoor and outdoor space; indoor we have a small bar area downstairs and dining area on second floor with terrace and walking street view, outdoor we have a small cozy terrace where you can enjoy a sunny day or peaceful and romantic evening. In our premises you can use your laptop or mobile with complimentary wi-fi connection, enjoy reading some publications available for our guests and listening the sounds of lounge and jazz music with some occasional pickings of Finnish hits.

Food
Our menu consists from Nordic cuisines but having emphasis on Finnish cuisine. We have brought a selection of most popular and traditional dishes on the menu. We serve also Thai food with comprehensive menu selections and a petit list of International favourites. With us, you can order breakfast anytime of the day, bite something simple from our snack menu, order pastries with your coffee or take them home with you or sip freshing smoothies and shakes together with other refreshments. Bar menu includes a delicious list of cocktails, other bar beverages and small selection of wines from Italy, France and Australia. Do not forget our hot Happy Hour times, twice per day! Hot hours during 15-18 and 21-23.

We will do our best to create a warm, relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. Aalto Kitchen is your home as much it is ours and we are always looking forward seeing you again.
